  • Description

This is a beautiful rosewood lounge chair designed in the 1950s by Erik Kolling Andersen for the Danish maker Peder Pedersen. A stunning chair with gorgeous flowing lines to its arms and a beautiful shape to the seat back.

The real focus of Danish design, the object that had the longest-lasting influence, was the chair. Cabinet pieces were important, but the chair was the fundamental form. A chair is the hardest thing to design because it’s got to be comfortable even though people are made in all different sizes, shapes, and forms. What’s comfortable to one person may not be comfortable to another, but there are some defining proportions that help to determine whether it’s comfortable or not.

The fabric is a pale lemon colour. You may wish to shampoo the fabric, recover the chair or leave it as is - your choice! There are repairs where the arms of the chair meet the seatbacks but these are strong and stable.

    W64 x D65 x H86cm (Seat Height: 42cm)
