Description
This mid century bureau was designed and manufactured by Elliotts of Newbury during the 1960s. A finely crafted, high quality desk, the bureau features a bank of three spacious drawers below its desktop. The top section is fronted by a panel that drops down to form the desktop area, with pigeon holes to the rear of the desk space. This is a rarely found model and has some lovely design features such as its ‘hidden’ drawer pulls.
Elliotts of Newbury (EoN) brought style, design and grace to homes in the 1960’s with their stunning furniture with unique and distinguishing features highly influenced by their Danish counterparts. Excelling on the marriage of contrasting woods such as Teak and Rosewood, they created versatile and highly desirable furniture that has stood the test of time.
In very nice original condition and we’ve had the top surface refinished by a professional furniture restorer. There is a little historic filled area at the top of one of the drawers (see photo). Not easily noticed though unless you’re looking for it.
