This vintage sideboard by British maker Schreiber has an eye-catching Scandinavian look to it. This classic piece of mid century furniture, originally a dressing chest, features 6 drawers that offer extensive storage. The circular drawer handles and long legs are stand-out features of this mid century sideboard.
The Schreiber furniture company was founded in 1957. In its heyday, during the 1960s and 1970s Schreiber created designs that challenged the more established furniture companies, like G Plan. Schreiber definitely holds a place in the history of UK furniture design. They originally bought out Greaves & Thomas to gain access to the upper end of the market and were the first company to open large shopping centres dedicated to furniture shopping.
In very nice condition, We’ve had the top surface refinished by a professional furniture restorer. There’s just a hint of a little ‘play’ in the legs but this won’t be evident when the sideboard is situated against your wall.
