This set of 3 nesting tables by Soborg Mobler was designed and manufactured in Denmark in the 60’s and exhibits a high degree of craftsmanship. The result is a simple and beautiful little piece of mid century furniture.
Danish furniture is very often unembellished. That’s why it appeals to people who like things pure and simple, and why it often doesn’t appeal to those who like things much more ornate. There is just a rawness to the form itself. It goes back to Kaare Klint’s concept that the form had been perfected throughout the centuries, so there were already classic shapes that appealed to most people. His belief was that form had been perfected throughout history, and that there was no need to reinvent it.
