Description
This is a set of desirable vintage dining chairs, designed and manufactured in Denmark by Farstrup Stolefabrik, stolefabrik being the Danish word for chairmaker. These Danish chairs are beautifully designed, solid and very well manufactured. An example of exceptional Scandinavian vintage furniture.
Farstrup Furniture was founded in 1910 as a sawmill. The location close to the beautiful Langesø woodlands west of Odense was perfect. At the time the transport of the large wooden logs was done by horse-drawn carriage. The manufacture of chairs started in 1918 and became the basis for the growth that has characterised Farstrup Furniture until the present day.
In the 1950s and 60s, production really took off and the company has produced millions of high quality chairs since then. Craftmanship was and is paramount at Farstrup, all of their furniture being 100% “Made in Denmark”. The woods they use are normally more than 100 years old and the fabrics are of the highest quality.
Solid, structurally sound and in great vintage condition, the set is ready for use with, as you’d expect, some signs of age and use.
