This is a beautiful vintage Danish dining table, designed and manufactured in Denmark by Skovby. This super piece of vintage furniture features two additional leaves that store easily under the table top. The top itself has a stunning wood grain above a beautiful base. The table can be extended in two stages, allowing 3 different lengths to be set and extending the table is so smooth and easy. The gently curved sides of the table top really add to its beauty and the banding around the table top is another super design feature. The rich grain patterns are outstanding. A genuinely rare piece of high quality Scandinavian mid century furniture.
Skovby was founded in 1933 by cabinetmaker Thorvald Rasmussen. His son Villy Rasmussen and grandsons Preben and Jørgen Rasmussen have carried on ever since. Early special assignments for the small one-man workshop quickly advanced to complete dining room suites. Skovby are still producing furniture today, with a continuing focus on craftsmanship and natural materials.
