A rare and beautiful set of vintage mid century chairs by the renowned maker, Portwood, one of the finest furniture makers of this period. The sculptural shape of these unique chairs is so beautiful. They speak for themselves!
Whilst the majority of the English Mid Century designers based themselves in the South, it was the North West and in particular Manchester, that was to create one of the most iconic and under valued designers of the period. Based out of Portwood, Stockport, the Portwood furniture company would create some of the most unusual and amazing designs of the period and this stunning dining sideboard with its curved flowing legs is a prime example of the high quality work that Portwood created.
In very nice original condition with, as you’d expect, some signs of age and use, including a small mark to one of the seat pads.
