Whilst the majority of the British Mid Century designers based themselves in the South of the country, it was the North West and in particular Manchester, that was to create one of the most iconic and under valued designers of the period. Based out of Portwood, Stockport, the Portwood furniture company would create some of the most unusual and amazing designs of the period and this stunning dining table with its curved flowing legs is a prime example of the high quality work that Portwood created.
The stunning chairs with their generous back support and legs echoing the table design create a truly eye catching design that is both beautiful and practical! The chairs, in particular, appear to have a strong Danish influence to their design. Easily seating 4 with room to spare when folded, the table top slides easily out to allow a centre pivoted leaf to be inserted creating room for additional guests!
The table measures:
137cm Wide when Closed, 182cm Wide when fully extended
The chairs measure:
Seat Height 47cm
Seat Width 42.5cm
Seat Depth 39cm
