Description
An elegant mid-century Scandinavian double extending dining table designed by Nils Jonsson for Swedish maker Troeds. Clean lines are a key attribute of this table and Nils Jonsson has excelled in its design. The two extra leaves (which store easily and conveniently under the table top) can be added separately or together so that the table can be extended when extra dinner guests are expected. This is a stunning piece of Swedish furniture which truly embraces the modernist ideology: form follows function. The table is crafted from highly grained teak and remains sturdy and strong. Consider your dining room problems solved.
Troeds has produced some of Sweden’s most elegant contemporary furniture, pieces that have defined the Scandinavian modern style. Since it’s inception in 1934 by Svea och Hugo Troedsson, Troeds has enjoyed a distinguished history. The company focused on high end furniture throughout the mid century era, producing designs that combined lightness of form, beauty and function – the essence of Scandinavian Modern.
Successful collaborations with some of the leading Swedish architects and furniture designers such as Nils Jonsson and Yngve Ekstrom led to refined offerings that were always crisp, functional and highly desirable.
Structurally sound with, as you’d expect, some signs of age and use. We’ve had the table top refinished by a professional furniture restorer. The photographs highlight some areas where, despite the refinish, some colour variation remains. The camera, unfortunately, pick this up significantly more than the naked eye does. This said, we’ve reduced the price of the table to reflect this.
