A stunning original 1970s table lamp with a space-age acrylic shade, in the style of those by Harvey Guzzini. The globe slides up and down the dual central rods to allow the shade and light source to be set at different heights.
Iguzzini was an Italian lighting company founded in 1959 as Harvey Creazioni by the sons of Mariano Guzzini. The company started to produce enamelled copper artistic objects. The name was inspired by Harvey the giant rabbit, imaginary friend of James Stewart in the famous 1950s film. The company soon specialized in plastic products, producing internationally awarded designs by legendary designers like Gio Ponti, Bruno Gecchelin, Michel de Lucchi, Ron Arad, Rodolfo Bonetto, Gae Aulenti, Piero Castiglioni and Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
In really nice original condition with, as you’d expect, some signs of age and use.
