Description
This stunning credenza is a classic Italian sideboard designed by Umberto Mascagni in the 1950’s for Harrods, London. Mascagni, innovating from his Bologna base, was known for his provocative use of new materials in furniture design.
This piece features three lockable cupboard doors to its front (key present). The doors are covered in padded cream vinyl with gold coloured trim and have mirrored panels on the inside. The central door reveals a bank of 3 fabric lined drawers that glide in and out smoothly and easily. The tapered legs of this outstanding sideboard are wrapped in black faux “lizard skin” with a vertical inlaid aluminium stripe. The mirror to the rear can be left in situ or easily removed, meaning this versatile cabinet could look great in a lounge, bedroom, hallway or dining room.
In super vintage condition. As you’d expect, some of the internal and external surfaces show some signs of age and use. There is a protective glass top sitting on the top of the cabinet. This too can be left in situ or easily lifted off.
