Description
This is a super cool, Scandinavian influenced, minimalist retro sideboard by famed mid century maker White and Newton. It has three drawers to the left, the top one with sliding cutlery divider. In the centre there is a single shelved cupboard and to the right is a double shelved cupboard. One of the cupboard doors drops down and doubles as a surface for mixing drinks. The ‘hidden’ drawer and door pulls really add to the sleek, minimalist appearance of this piece and the standard of finish to the rear is another indicator of its quality. This is a genuinely stunning mid century sideboard!

White and Newton of Portsmouth were on the cutting edge of furniture design and production in Britain throughout the mid 20th century. Under the design direction of the talented Arthur Edwards, the firm produced stunning high end furniture often defined by its clean modern lines and stark linear form. The company favoured the use of teak as a staple design material but also on occasion embraced luxurious timbers such as rosewood for its high end aesthetic. White and Newton furniture was a hit with trendsetters of the day and today the timeless designs remain cool and contemporary.
