Description
A fantastic extending dining table with stunning rosewood grain patterns and chrome legs, possibly designed by Richard Young for Merrow Associates.
A former Royal College of Art student, he later studied at the Royal Art Academy Copenhagen under Professor Old Wanscher. Richard was obsessed by quality and the kind of meticulous detailing typical of Scandinavian furniture of the 1950s. He used beautifully finished surfaces – a juxtaposition of wood, steel and glass – as substitutes for patina and marquetry. . Most of the items where produced on a limited run and retailed in high-end furniture stores. They used teak and rosewood and chrome plated steel. with flat surfaces and very specific bolts. The company traded for only 10-15 years.
Structurally sound, in super condition and ready for use in your home with, as you’d expect, some signs of age and use.
