Description
A stylish piece of Danish vintage furniture. Beautiful lines and attractive tapering legs make this a simple, aesthetically pleasing and practical piece of mid century furniture. In oatmeal fabric, and with striking teak panels to the fronts of the arm rests, this is a stunning piece of Scandinavian seating, designed in the 1960s by Kurt Ostervig, This sofa is a distinctive piece that looks great from every angle.
Kurt Ostervig originally trained as a shipbuilding engineer however his passion for woodwork and design kept calling and he made the transition to become a full-time furniture designer. He started his design career at Knudsen but subsequently opened his own studio. Ostervig’s style was bold and stylish and he was unafraid to use a wide range of different materials to achieve his artistic vision. His unique style captured the attention of many in his field and he went on to collaborate with some of the top furniture companies forging successful partnerships.
Structurally sound and the fabric is in great condition. Naturally, the seats offer a bit more ‘give’ than they would have done when new.
