Description
A beautiful vintage mid century dining table by the renowned maker Portwood, one of the finest furniture makers of this period. The stylish ‘legs’ and the gentle curve to the edges of the table top are eye-catching design highlights of this piece. The table seats four diners when unextended, then six when the additional leaf is swung easily into place.
Whilst the majority of the English Mid Century designers based themselves in the South, it was the North West and in particular Manchester, that was to create one of the most iconic and under valued designers of the period. Based out of Portwood, Stockport, the Portwood furniture company would create some of the most unusual and amazing designs of the period and this stunning dining sideboard with its curved flowing legs is a prime example of the high quality work that Portwood created.
