This stunning extending table, designed by Malcolm Walker for Dalescraft, has such elegant styling. Splayed legs and a beautifully shaped frame and stretcher bars are design highlights of this piece. The table top, too, has a lovely shape to it, tapering gently towards each end of the table.
Dalescraft were a fairly small maker, working from Pudsey in Leeds, that were big on quality. Designed for Dalescraft's Hayworth collection, this piece has an obvious Scandinavian design influence, typical of the mid-century period. The shaping to the frame upon which the table top sits being the clearest example of this influence. The table top, too, has a lovely shape to it, tapering gently towards each end of the table.
In super vintage condition with only minor (almost unnoticeable) signs of use.
