Description
This is a sleek and elegant mid-century Scandinavian sideboard. Very possibly an early IKEA Swedish sideboard. This piece may well be an antique of the future, very similar to the 1960s sideboards that IKEA designed and created, prior to their exploration of innovative self assembly products. Clean lines are a key attribute of this piece, which benefits from those oh-so-desirable sliding doors, a hallmark of quality Scandinavian credenzas. This is a stunning piece of furniture, crafted from highly grained teak, which truly embraces the modernist ideology: form follows function. We love the organic shaping of those eye-catching little door handles. The way the rear of this piece is finished is also of note. This area is often neglected on more mass-produced items but the back of this sideboard is finished in a beautifully grained teak (see photo). Consider your storage problems solved.
Originally, there was a little slide-out drawer within the central cupboard space. This is no longer present but it’s absence doesn’t affect the look or practicality of the sideboard.
