Description
A sleek and stylish 1960s sideboard from the British maker Vanson, designed by Peter Hayward. This piece, with beautiful walnut grain patterns, benefits from four central drawers with ‘hidden’ drawer pulls. Inside the top drawer is a felt lined cutlery divider. Two shelved cupboard spaces (also with hidden ‘handles’) sit either side of the drawers. The attractive shaping of the legs beneath the main cabinet is another design highlight of this sideboard. The shelves can be removed should you wish to store bottles or your LP collection in either or both of the cupboard spaces.
Peter Hayward established his reputation as a furniture designer in the 1950s -70s. With an impressive client list that included G-Plan, Parker Knoll, Greaves & Thomas, Uniflex, Race Furniture and not forgetting Heals and Son in London. Several of his designs were selected for the Design Council and Design Index and because this acclaim represented British design in the UK and abroad until his death in 2005.
Condition is super as we’ve had the sideboard refinished to a high standard by a professional furniture restorer.
