Description
An elegant 1950s sideboard from the British maker Vanson, designed by Peter Hayward. This piece, with beautiful walnut grain patterns, benefits from three central drawers with brass trumpet handles. Inside the top drawer are two green felt lined cutlery drawers, one of these being a removable tray with cut out handles. Two shelved cupboard spaces sit either side of the drawers with original brass wing shaped handles. The right hand cupboard was designed for use as a drinks cabinet, the u shape being designed to accommodate both bottles and glasses. The attractive shaping of the top piece is another design highlight of this sideboard. The bowed curve to its front and the sides gently taper toward the rear add to the stunning visual impact of this beautiful little credenza.
Peter Hayward established his reputation as a furniture designer in the 1950s -70s.
