Description
An amazing high-end 1960s teak sideboard from the great British mid century designer Robert Heritage for the revered London maker Archie Shine. This stylish sideboard has a bank of three drawers to the centre, the top drawer with cutlery divider in place. To the right and left of the drawers are two large cupboard spaces, one with a removable shelf. Above the double cupboard spaces sit two more pairs of drawers. One of the cupboard spaces houses a little hidden shelf that slides out and provides a little place for mixing drinks. As with all Archie Shine, Robert Heritage pieces, this fantastic credenza is of superior quality and was sold only through very high end retailers such as Harrods.
Robert Heritage designed furniture for a number of British makers in the 1950s, 60s and 70s but is best known for his work for the top quality London maker Archie Shine. Archie Shine furniture was retailed by Heals and a few independent up-market provincial retailers. Robert Heritage was also an influential Professor of Furniture at the Royal College of Art from 1974-1985 .
