Description
This is a rare and super stylish dining table, designed by John and Sylvia Reid and manufactured in England in the 1960s. With great looking legs in nickel-plated stainless steel and a teak table top, the look and style of these S range pieces have an enduring feel that is still much sought-after by collectors today. Rarely available, this is a versatile piece of mid century furniture.
John and Sylvia Reid were both working architects, and gained valuable experience working for influential British designer Robin Day and Hille in the early 1950s. They were asked to design a range of furniture for Stag, and fostered a 10-year partnership between 1952 and 1962 with the manufacturer. Taking inspiration from the prevailing Scandinavian designers of the time, and drawing on their architectural background, John and Sylvia were among the pioneers of British Mid Century Modern furniture.
The table top is in super condition as we’ve had it refinished by a professional furniture restorer.
