Description
This mid century bureau was designed by Malcolm Walker and manufactured by Dalescraft during the 1960s. A finely crafted, high quality desk, the bureau features a spacious double cupboard below its desktop. The top section is fronted by a panel that drops down to form the desktop area, with a shelf to the rear of the desk space. This is a rarely found model and has some lovely design features such as its attractive cupboard door handles.
Dalescraft were a fairly small maker, working from Pudsey in Leeds, that were big on quality. Designed for Dalescraft’s Hayworth collection, this piece has an obvious Scandinavian design influence, typical of the mid-century period.
Please note that, while there is a key present, the desk no longer locks.
