This vintage sideboard by British maker Austinsuite has an eye-catching Scandinavian look to it. This classic piece of mid century furniture features extensive storage. A bank of three drawers (the top drawer felt lined and with cutlery dividers) sits between two cabinet spaces. The beautiful drawer handles and the ‘hidden’, recessed door pulls are stand-out features of this mid century sideboard.
Austinsuite of London were at the forefront of English mid century design creating stunning designs to rival G Plan and Ercol using beautiful and exotic woods to create highly practical and appealing pieces. The company was founded in London by four Austin brothers.
A super attractive sideboard with, as you’d expect, some signs of age and use. Barely worth mentioning but there is just a little ‘play’ if you give this sideboard a nudge. This is quite minimal though and the legs are firmly secured to the cabinet. Pretty much a negligible consideration as no doubt you’ll position the sideboard with its back firmly against a wall.
