The black metal uprights are stiffened by the presence of a cross frame . This is a very versatile piece of retro furniture, similar to ladderax modular shelving systems. The mid century Scandinavian design movement was all about reinterpreting simple, linear shapes from earlier design periods and making them ‘simpler’ and this 1980s Swedish piece represents a more modern extension of this philosophy.
