Description
A stylish piece of English vintage furniture. Beautiful lines make this a simple, aesthetically pleasing and practical piece of mid century furniture. This is a stunning piece of British mid century seating, designed by Robin Day for Hille, that converts from a sofa to a bed. This Habitat made sofa is a distinctive piece that looks great from every angle.
The Hille furniture company was started in the East End of London in 1906 by Salamon Hille. Hille’s most famous designer was, of course, Robin Day. From the very outset Day was given carte blanche to design whatever he wanted and to have prototypes built. Day is most famously remembered for his best selling product, the Polypropylene chair, the first of which was the polyside chair in 1963.
The sofa bed is £2099 if we have it reupholstered or it can be £800 if you’d like to buy it as it stands. Fabric is in well-used condition. The sofa can be used as it is or you can have it recovered / reupholstered to suit. Call or whatsapp Stuart on 07534323180 for a full description.
